I Finally Got Permission!

I've been weeks, at it with a couple managers and record labels, complicating the whole process in order for them to let me use certain songs. I thought there was no hope, until my brother mentioned that he is actually friends with a band member from an indie group called 'Kids'. Yet he couldn't have told me this any sooner. So he helped me reach out to them and placed the final piece to puzzle. I'm really thrilled that things were able to work out and the song, "Sunshine" goes perfectly with the opening. It's suppose to represent the dream world. For the parts that portray reality, I'm using small bits from a song, "Superstition" by The Kills, whom I also reached out for its use.

Editing

Im almost done with the editing and Ive also started my Critical Reflection. I also changed my mind on how I am going to be presenting it, I re-thought my decision and decided to take a different route. I thought I was set with just doing it through a Google Presentation, but thought it was a bit boring. What I now have in mind, is doing a screen recording on my computer paired with a voiceover of me explaining this whole process. I think this is a more efficient route in order to translate my thoughts.
As for editing, Everything is following through. All of the clips I shot are coming to use. So far I have the first minute done and Im really liking the way its turning out. As Ive been adding in the credits, I am thinking of including some famous production labels to make the opening seem more professional.
For music, I still haven't received the permission for a song I really wanted to use. Luckily, recently I asked one of my friends, who is a musician, to whip something up incase I end up not using the song. Its a shame if I cant use the song because it went really well with the opening. Other than that my project is still going smoothly.

Still Waiting for the Music

So far, Ive been able to look over the clips and at least lined them up on my editing timeline (using Final Cut Pro) and I like what I see. I don't think I would need to re-shoot anything, which is really relieving. The only thing kind of holding me back from continuing this process is waiting for a certain record label give me permission to use a song, 'Dreaming' by Mac DeMarco. Its almost as the last puzzle piece I need to complete the picture. I have been able to lay out all the clips on the timeline, but haven't had the chance to make certain edits without the music. My intention was to have some of the beats within the song I chose, to match some of the cuts between clips. I'm really hoping they respond to my e-mail soon and not have to change it to another one.

As for my Creative Critical Reflection, I've been thinking for it to be presented through Google Presentation. I like how the presentation can look professional yet interesting with the provided themes and color schemes. Oppose to, for example, Prezi where I feel there are too many designs and transitions that it becomes more distracting, overlooking the text. I have also been writing a 'rough draft' of the Creative Critical Reflection. I still need to add more to it, and hopefully finish by the end of this weekend.
